The Cutest Pet on Halloween

I couldn't leave this picture out. Our Jr High Minister and his wife have a beautiful dog named Bella. Tonight she was decked out in a snow white costume. We all thought she was precious and kids were lining up to see her.

Happy Halloween!!!

Well I hope everyone had a wonderful and fun Halloween. Emma and Ty were Dash and Violet from the Incredibles this year. We went Trick or Treating in our neighborhood first (that's why it's still light out) and then we headed up to our church for our first ever Fall Festival. The kids had a great time doing both and especially loved seeing their friends (as well as bouncing in bounce houses, playing games and getting candy). Emma is with 2 of her friends from school and Ty is with 2 of his buddies from church.

Pumpkin Carving

Ty decided to write on his pumpkin this year and Emma wanted to carve hers, so she drew on it and then I cut it out. And as you can see they are really into making silly pics

My painted face

Ok, my two comments on my last post talked about me not putting my own painted face on. I have to confess, it was just pride holding me back!, I didn't feel I looked my best and who wants their own pic on a blog when they feel like it doesn't look good. But, I swallowed my pride and decided to put the pic Emma took of me with my painted face and Ty. Hope you enjoy!! The kids did a great job, Ty drew a ball (circle) and Emma a beautiful BIG Butterfly, but you can't see much from the picture.

I've Been Tagged

My Friend Jen has tagged me and asked me to write down some things about myself. In order to do this I have to tag people too. So here it goes, Amy C, Beth, Paige, Jamie, Angie, and Kristin you have all been tagged
The Rules:
1. I have to post these rules before I give you the facts.
2. Each player starts with 8 random facts/habits about themselves.
3. People who are tagged need to write their own blog (about their 8 things) and post these rules.
4. At the end of your blog, you need to choose people to get tagged and list their names.
5. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.
I don't know how many people may or may not know these things about me so I hope they're a little amusing!!!
Interesting Fact 1:
One day I would love to work for a sno cone place. I don't know what the fasciniation is for me, whether it's just b/c I love them or it makes people happy to have a sno cone, but it sounds like a great job to me.
#2:
My right thumb is shaped very differently from my left. I don't know why but for many years I had some insecurites about this, however when I was in HS a friend came up with reasons why the bigger thumb is more useful, such as, using it to get food and dirt off of my kids faces, turning pages etc. Now I don't feel so weird about it.
#3:
I don't like to eat ribs, because that is exactly what they look like RIBS!!! I have a wierd thing about not eating meat on the bone. It gives me too many gross mental pics.
#4:
I have found out lately that I am way too picky in picking out cell phones and purses. I have let two free phones pass by on my upgrade while I was "looking for something better" and I've been searching for almost a year for the perfect purse for me. I want one that can be a messenger bag/hipster, but not too big/or small. I want either a black or brown one so it will go with more. I found a great Vera Bradley style, but I don't know if I can commit to the fabric pattern--Told you I was picky
By the way Jen, this is a lot harder than I thought!!!
#5:
I hate coffee, but I LOVE hot chocolate, my latest favorite is Mimi's but we don't have one of those around here--that's probably good for me.
#6:
I really don't like to be in charge of things or be a leader, I'm much more a behind the scenes kind of person, but God keeps continually putting me in different roles. I guess if I get too comfortable I won't be relying on Him.
#7:
I just realized lately that I really enjoy baking. It's something that I can do with or without my kids and then just share with my family or many others!!
#8:
I hate that I'm really behind in my scrapbooking. I wish I could blink and be caught up so that I can enjoy taking pics now and scrapping them close to when I took them, NOT 2 years later!!!
Hope You enjoyed some interesting (or not so interesting facts about me)

The Pumpkin Patch

I LOVE FALL!!!! One of my favorite things of the season is going to the pumpkin patch and having the kids pick their pumpkins. We have a great place about 20 min from our house called Cedar Hill Farms where you get to ride ponies, a train, a hayride, pet animals, go through a corn and hay maze and play on a playground (all for a small price of course). This year we had a wonderful time just like all of the past years.

Emma and Ty trying to pet all of the animals.

OK I think we've gone to 6 Flags one too many times. Ty rode with his hands up the whole way around the track, and Emma put hers up at the end ON A TRAIN.

Hayride to get to the pumpkins

Ty with his pick, a 5 pounder

Emma loves getting her face painted and this time she got a butterfly

Emma and Ty running through the hay maze. Later we did the corn maze and Emma led us through it. She is incredible at maze's.

Emma and Ty riding horses. This is one thing Ty had been looking forward to for weeks. Emma was disappointed that the horses were still on the "circle thing"

Busy Week

WOW this has been one crazy and fun week. It started last Sat. when we had a soccer game, birthday party (ty's friend), Brittany come into town, wedding shower and birthday party for Pelf. The only pic that made it on from that day was the bday party. It was a cowboy theme and I couldn't pass it up. Sunday the Pelfrey's got to come visit to see us and Brittany while they were in town and we had so much fun. Monday we started off saying goodby to some dear friends that are going on a huge journey to do exactly what God has called them to. After that we had brkft with the Pelfrey's, we took Emma lunch (where Brittany got to read to the class-I wish I had a pic of that one- She did such a good job). Mark and Glenda left that afternoon and knowing that Brittany was leaving the next day she stayed up until 3:00 in the morning working on the beautiful artwork for Ty's room (pics below). Tues I drove her to Little Rock b/c it's alot cheaper to drive there and fly out than to fly out of Memphis. Wed. Ty and I with some friends of ours got to go to the Library for story time and the firetruck was there. Ty was very afraid of the man's uniform (mask and suit) at first but by the end he was going up and giving him 5. Ty got to get on the Firetruck and "drive" it. We ended the week with a Farm Breakfast with Emma's Kind. class. The pic would not come up so I'm working on that one. But it was so much fun. All of the parents sent food to school and the other room mom and I got to serve the children. The weekend doesn't look like it's going to slow down much with a football game tonight, pumpkin patch tomorrow, ss social tom. night and church on Sun. (where I have kidcare this Sun). Sorry that was so much writing but I wanted to fill you in on our week!!!!

Kidz Kountry Field Trip

Emma had her first Kindergarten field trip. We got to go to a place called Kidz Kountry that had SO much to do. First Emma got to ride on a school bus for the 1st time, then we went through a hay maze. After the maze they had turtle races, hay ride, picked a pumpkin out of a patch, train ride, rode ponies, milked a goat, saw and fed a 1000 lb pig named wilbur, petted bunnies, chicks, and a ferret, fed a baby goat, and ended with a picnic lunch. After all that she got to check out early and got to go home with me at 12:00. We had so much fun and loved every minute

Daddy Gone :(

Our daddy was gone for a couple of days this week and we were sad, but we had some things that helped occupy our time. Emma and Ty decided to get into their halloween costumes and be the incredibles. They had a lot of fun running around the house in their costumes. Also, our friend Lyndsey and her month old baby Carson came and spent two nights with us. We loved having a baby around to play with and it helped us keep our minds off of our daddy.
